Memphis Tennessee and the West Memphis Three

Memphis Tennessee is a perfect place to visit for a long weekend.  Memphis is known for its barbecue, blues music and Elvis Presley.  Anyone visiting Memphis Tennessee must visit Jim Neely’s Interstate Bar-B-Q, Beele Street for Memphis blues music and Graceland.

Unfortunately, Memphis Tennessee is in the news today for something bad.  Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks is being sued for comments she made about the West Memphis Three. Celebrities like Natalie Maines have criticized the handling of the West Memphis Three case.  In this case three Memphis teens were convicted of killing an 8 year old boy. The west memphis 3 were steve branch, christopher byers and michael moore.

Terry Hobbs, the step-father of the slain boy, has filed suit against Natalie Maines for defamation.  He is claiming damages based on loss of income and damage to his reputation.  It will be interesting to see how this sideshow to the west memphis 3 plays out.

While this side show continues, Memphis Tennessee will continue to make great food and music.
